Miu Miu, the Italian women’s clothing and accessory brand from the Prada fashion house, has released their SS16 ad campaign, shot by Prada photographer of choice, the famed Steven Meisel, and featuring four exciting personalities donning the new collection.

Starring a line-up of models-cum-aspiring screen actors that include Millie Brady, Julia Garner, Matilda Lutz and India Salvor Menuez the new campaign was created in New York at the start of December in Meisel’s studio, with sole focus remaining upon garments, handbags and boots from the SS16 collection.
The muted setting of the images allows the collection, described as a study in extreme contrasts: tweed, jacquard, gingham, satin and lace and leather in complex textural compositions featuring diverse forms and colourways, to take centre stage.

As for the personalities taking centre stage in the new campaign, each model also boasts an illustrious list of screen credits to their name, such as the British star of ITV’s Mr Selfridge Millie Brady, soon to appear in Burr Steers forthcoming film Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, and New Yorker Julia Garner, who has recently been seen starring alongside veteran comedy actor Lily Tomlin in the film Grandma.
Keeping the Italian end up, actor Matilda Lutz has also recently been casted in the lead role of Paramount’s newest installment of The Ring, to be released in April. Each actor was encouraged to “confront” the camera by Meisel, allowing them to interact with it in a manner that highlights both their expressive range and beauty.
