PRESENTED on a clean-cut catwalk, newly appointed creative director Paul Surridge’s collection for  Roberto Cavalli SS18 populated the runway with beautiful garments, and showed a new, more subtle direction for the brand. From two-piece suits, flowing dresses, body-hugging ballgowns and oversized coats – most of them involved extravagant prints – notably an abstract zebra design, rather than leopard and glitz.

Some garments were encrusted with jewels and leather. Colours of deep reds and green, paying homage to the earth around us. However colours of pastel pinks and purples also gave a feast to the eyes.

Models in a natural make-up and a smokey eye wore delicate jewellery with a signature one hoop, accompanied with flat pointed slip ons and bags in an array of colours.  Surridge gave us a thoughtful subtle collection with a wide appeal.
