MFW SS18: Fausto Puglisi

UNLIKE his bright, eccentric and colour chaotic designs, Fausto Puglisi toned it down a notch this season in Milan.

The colour palette for his SS18 collection was black, white and blush pink and according to Puglisi he took inspiration from Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, the late wife of John F Kennedy Jr who was known to wear the ying-yang colours.

It was simple, flowing silhouettes this season with intense beading and intricate cutwork. A Glass favourite was a silky white dressing-gown style dress. The mid-calf, length dress was lined with long, dancing tassels. The arms, neckline and lining was covered with white, flower designs similar to a doily, just fancier. Accompanied with silk belt and paired with lace-up boots and a black, studded clutch, this garments had everything possible.

Another favourite was a much simpler, calmer dress but still had that Fausto Puglisi flare. The deep V-neck dress had a cream clinch-waist belt which was followed by ruffled layers and gold buttons running down the dress, giving you the option of how much leg you want to show that day. With flared ruffles at the shoulders, the cream and white and gold garment is going to be a fashion girl’s best-friend.

Black laced, golden, flower embellishments and a whole lot of tulle, Fausto Puglisi’s collection really showed us that black and white is all you really need.
