MFW SS15: Salvatore Ferragamo

Less is more was totally embodied by Salvatore Ferragamo’s SS15 show during the final day of Milan Fashion Week.

One word can describe this collection: simplicity – elegant femininity infused with clarity, classic structural garments. The AW14 glamorous sleek pieces were transformed into something quiet and mature with cream, tan, coffee almost natural-sandy luxurious textures which gradually evolved to more blossoming with some bright tones comprised of yellow, orange and jade hues. Beige jackets, adorned with fringing, exotic and embroidered pattern channeled a loose, rich in simple comfort and elegant, mood.

The continual clarity created by structural monochrome woven-airy dresses, maxes as well as midi-skirts with clean lines and interesting details juxtaposed against leather-python elements ranging from a totally snakeskin dress, open-toe mules, and belts. A camel colored cape and a bottom up with high-waist belt and yellowish prints overcoat teamed with collar, offered wearability and utility. For the finale a graphic panel halter dress in sandy-beige, black and greenish blue lines brought a summery-spring fresh aura.

The Italian heritage house, one of the major players of the Fashion luxe industry, has evidently proved that the main purpose is not to impress as it’s classic roots do not serve fashion as an end in itself. This collection emphasized the practicality with a statement of opulence and exquisite craftsmanship through a fluid, geometrical and perfectly themed show.
