RETURNED are the days of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Living on through their legendary film noir silhouettes – living on now through Bottega Veneta.
The AW17 collection wasn’t purely ‘30s Hollywood in its style. There was also a futuristic edge to the collection. It had an essence of Sean Young’s costumes in Blade Runner while still staying true to the structure of an vintage Hollywood murder mystery.
With its dense fabric choices, there was a hint of WWI military uniforms – softened by the addition of furs, silks and satins. This wonderful collection was feminine with a masculine strength fueling it. Marlene Dietrich would be proud.
