MFW AW15: MSGM

Vibrant colours were the answer to the season of AW15 according to Massimo Giorgetti at his label MSGM, as his playful collection was full of them – bright red, hot pink, juicy orange, cobalt blue or citrus yellow were all presented during his show at Milan Fashion Week.

The main attractions of the collection were (surprise, surprise!) coats. Whether they were fluffy, plush, tailored, fur with a patchwork effect, adorned with big contrasting pockets or neckline turned into a scarf wrapped around the neck. Mini dresses with race stripes, cropped bell-bottoms and miniskirts with floral embroidery or embellished with big ruffled hearts were paired with sweater-vests worn over tight polo necks or shirts to create a 1960s/70s mood that was carried throughout the show.

Giorgetti came up with an innovative chaotic-looking lace technique confusing to the eye as to what it actually is and translated it into long-sleeved tops and a dress. As far as accessories go, there were plenty. Models’ hands and arms were covered with long elegant gloves while clutching little briefcase-style bags worn with fringed pumps with a single strap or over-the-knee boots continuing the current trend. Oversized colourful scarves were pinned with a geometrical brooches and models’ ears were decorated with matching earrings.
