MFW AW14: Just Cavalli

Roberto Cavalli’s diffusion line Just Cavalli’s catwalk show revealed this week in Milan was all about fringe, suede and leather, more fringe, digital prints, and a little more fringe. Decorative borders of threads and tassels hung loosely from edges of handbags, trousers, and knee-high suede boots.

For this season’s collection Cavalli chose a palette that is full of bright and neon oranges, yellows and golds mottled in with blacks and whites.  Digital printed garments of famous landmarks were layered up with outwear made of animal skin and floral brocade.  Large eyelets of many sizes permeated the collection, serving more as décor rather than utility.

The whole collection had a hybrid feeling of sophisticated renaissance meets biker rock n’ roll girl with a touch of western.  The intertwining of these very opposite end of the spectrum themes may be a little much for some, but the Cavalli lovers of the past may be beside themselves with all the choice in this seasons collection.
