Loewe release AW18 campaign starring Stella Tennant and shot by Steven Meisel

THE Spanish luxury brand Loewe have unveiled the images from their AW18 campaign. Lensed by legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign features British supermodel Stella Tennant reclining into a sofa, fully dressed in looks from the Loewe AW18 collection. Keeping true to the brand’s Spanish origins, Tennant holds a copy of the Spanish literary classic Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, a hardbound Loewe edition which also features a sleeve displaying a Steven Meisel photograph originally published in Vogue Italia.

In another shot from the campaign, Belgian model Elise Crombez joins Tennant in an old-style elevator. Decked in matching red wigs, the two stare up at Meisel, splayed on the floor, apparently trapped, although their steely glares make them seem totally in control. It’s a glamorous high fashion shot, an alien-like alternative to the laid back photograph of Tennant settling into her book. With beauty legends Guido Palau guiding the hair and Pat McGrath in charge of make-up, it’s no surprise the resulting images are as striking as they are.

For the third aspect of the campaign Loewe have focused on the craftsmanship that make their luxury goods so coveted. The Gate handbag, seen here in amber and grey calf leather with a caramel knotted strap, is an example of the sort of “It” bags Loewe have such a knack for creating, following on from über-popular designs such as the puzzle bag.
