LFWM: Alex Mullins SS18

LOCATED at the BFC Presentation space, the smaller hall was a cosy setting for Alex Mullins SS18 menswear collection. Alex continued with his on-going theme of creating a timeless wardrobe and adapted to the trends of spring and summer.

Following the common theme from Mullins’ AW17 collection, models walked down the runway with their faces cover in silk wraps with ironically images of a face. The AM logo which was seen at SS17, also feature on the trousers and jeans debuted in London. Photographed images of perfume adverts adorned silk sack-like dresses as well as images of daisies in ankle length trousers and button down jacket accompanied with tote bags. Florals for spring are ground-breaking for this collection.

A Glass favourite was the see-through copper mesh trouser and top. The garment was accompanied with a mesh tote bag which carried fresh flowers. The garment is impractical and uncomfortable and we expected nothing more from Alex Mullins.

DIY flower prints created a 3D effect against their white canvas. Asymmetrical trousers cutting, layering, wide-leg jeans and oversizing sleeves and jacket sleeves silhouettes were also seen throughout the collection.
