LFW SS15: Christopher Raeburn

On Friday, Christopher Raeburn’s SS15 show was a refreshingly tranquil dive into textural, lightweight, sheer and silk fabrics filled up with planes fly sounds before the “take off” enhancing the idea of modernity and romance in the digital age which pervaded the Ascent named collection.

Widely known for his utility-practical garments, this time Raeburn gives a lead to the sexier side of his pieces, with serious textures, hyper-short, geometric-shirt dresses, techno-little shorts and outerwear interplaying with map and floral prints, organza panels and pink parachute pieces.

Overall, blurring the boundaries between practicality and fashion, futurism and realism, this collection amps the alchemy between functionality and femininity up; as well as sustainability and style.
