LFW AW18: Roksanda

BURSTING with femininity, the Roksanda AW18 show had it all. From the tulle ballroom dresses with translucent Italian sequins with upright collars, to the girly frills and pleating of a raspberry pink jumpsuit or white cocktail dress. This year Roksanda Ilincic used the work of Parisian artist Caroline Denervaud as inspiration for the collection, portraying shape, form and balance in each look.

A combination of layers and fabrics allowed the garments to bounce and move freely. The colours were especially pretty, beginning with tasty neutral shades of camel and biscotti, moving gradually to more intense shades, like the powder blue or bright yellow trouser suits. There was lots of wool, most notably in the form of cashmere boyfriend coats or checked mohair blankets which hugged the shoulders of the models, layering over rose pink or baby blue silk.

Interesting accessories included a pair of bright yellow arm length gloves, a pretty selection of clutches, and scarves tied in bows around the neck. The footwear – mules and knee-high boots in suede and leather were in collaboration with Malone Souliers. It was completely girly, smart and modest. These were every girl’s dream party outfits. The collection was good enough to eat.
