LFW AW18: Delpozo

WELCOMING Delpozo and its creative director Josep Font to LFW was a natural affair. Natural because of the way it felt right, and also for the fact it was his AW18 collection’s theme. Being Delpozo’s LFW debut the AW18 show was highly anticipated.

The luxury Spanish label couldn’t have been more dreamy if it tried. Opening the show was a sharp and clean white suit ensemble with a turquoise leather-based petal formed belt to cinch in the waist. As the show progressed so too did the floral and colourful theme that had been hinted at in the first belt look. Playing with colours of yellow, blue, green, and all shades of pink, and incorporating intricate floral embroidery and petal shaped fabric structures the AW18 show was enthralling and if anything, reminded you of spring.

The immense craftsmanship on display was something of wonders. The former architect and now fashion designer Josep Fort was in his element. All the looks were refined, clean, and sparkling from the sleek hair, right down to the pointed heels with glittery socks. Modern draping created bold shapes and flows.

Although the fabrics were not the most adventurous they were crafted with such spectacular precision that the simplicity and perfection of it all made it just as commendable. The embroidery details also were an intricate touch to the clear-cut vision. The finishing look that played with sequins to create an image of water, with fishes and flowers swimming in the shine was impressive. As well as this the waterlily and lotus flower embroidery, a feature of dresses, skirts and trousers, was jaw-droppingly good.
