PRESENTING her AW17 collection with On | Off this season was Edeline Lee, a designer clear about the kind of zen-like vision she has for dressing women. Drawing on this to give her latest pieces a stand-out elegance, Edeline reworked conservative staples with unusual fits and then moved on to more intricate and precise elements – jaunty collar effects and eye-catching but appropriate colour choices of buttons.
Appealing to her clientele, a confident connoisseur of most things with a penchant for subtly dramatic quirks, Lee showed her audience and designer perception is well calibrated.
This was a feeling heightened by the presentation. Poised far from the usual harum-scarum that often unfurls around London during fashion week it allowed one to pay closer attention to the trained hand Lee put to all elements of this collection.
