LC:M Topman Design SS15

Cord flares, floppy barnets and skin tight daisy jacquard knitwear all brought out to a feet-tapping funky soundtrack must of meant only one thing at LC:M, let’s do the time warp again? Glass’ multiple musings after Topman Design rock-and-rolled the schedule was centred on one thought, the team of canny designers over at TMD had gone seventies psychedelia crazy. But don’t jump to any conclusions too hastily, the mid-show looks involving a Mod snorkel jacket and Blur’s Girls and Boys show us that the time when seventies was last referenced ie Britpop ‘90s is truly where the train of Topman’s thought comes from.

It was generally a steady ride too, though some pieces most likely seemed a little hit and miss to some, we wonder, are Topman foreseeing a tinselly retro-revival? If so, it’s every shaggy haired male for himself. So the key Killer Queen meets Stone Roses pieces that you’ll be looking out for soon, will probably include monochrome knitwear, pastel blue kimono suiting and, believe it or not, the cord flares, yes, cord flares. Just get your groove on as soon as possible though because, when broken down, the bulk of the appetizing trans-seasonal pieces should be highly sought after.
