NYFW AW2014: Lacoste

Felipe Oliveira Baptista revealed a very different looking Lacoste autumn/winter collection than past years  last Saturday night in New York City.  The preppy sportswear label featured a collection that was inspired by an old Italian golf course from the 1920s named Chantaco.

Instead of the usual argyles, preppy polo tops and snugger fitting silhouettes  of previous seasons gone by, the collection  instead featured monochrome and outfits in the same colour head to toe in slightly oversized, yet comfortable looking silhouettes.

The famous Lacoste crocodile was absent from all pieces in the collection and replaced with the words “Lacoste Golf”, “Chantaco” and “Fair Play”.  Skirt lengths for women were short and of tennis style, accessories consisting of mainly backpacks and small thin handbags.  The casual looking male models wore oversized fitting anoraks, parkas, jackets with many pockets in addition to straight  to skinny cut trousers.
