Kurt Vile shares his new single and video Pretty Pimpin

The 35-year-old multi-instrumentalist Kurt Vile, who is also known for being a founding member of the cult band The War on Drugs, has released his new single Pretty Pimpin which will be appearing on his forthcoming solo album.

This will be Kurt’s sixth studio album

Kurt’s sixth studio album called b’lieve i’m going down…, suggests a more serious approach to his previous five records. Vile describes this new sound as “sort of dark”. The Pretty Pimpin video sees multiple Kurt Vile’s looking tired and lost in thought which very much translates in the melancholic sound he delivers in the new single.

The LP was recorded in locations like New York, Athens and Los Angeles, noteablly with Kurt paying an eight day visit to the famous Rancho de la Luna studio in the desert, that has a reputation for being a particularly special recording experience for musicians who want to escape a commercial studio. Perhaps these efforts will make the new album one of Vile’s best and most authentic.
