Haute Couture Spring 2015: Valentino

One word can describe Maison Valentino haute couture SS15, the aristocratic elegance. The show was an amalgamation of delicate, one-of-a kind impalpable fabrics, and beautifully tailored finishes.

Resurrecting the ancient Roman style to blend it with Russian folklores, the outcome couldn’t be anything but poetic. With a pre-Raphaelite aesthetic dominant throughout the show, ethereal silhouettes walked in long folklore with collar dresses, some of them paired with red and grey velvet -emperor like- kaftan and booties while skirts with knitted details were topped with transparent pieces.

Later, fairytale gowns, some of them in chiffon and white tulle embroidered in grey silver painted lame, some others adorned in print or guipure lace flaunted the Italian sartorial beauty and classic attitude. Dresses with deep decollate like the fire red velvet one and the diaphanous fabrics featured feminine sensuality while the braided bun hairstyle adorned in flowers offered a playful innocence.

It was a show which transported us to another era where fairies, angels and majesties participated all in the same play.
