EVER since 2011, Miu Miu has produced a series of short films, Women’s Tales, directed by the most distinguished female directors in the world. First presented at the Venice Film Festival this series became a captivating way of introducing viewers into women’s world.
The latest film, Carmen, is directed by Chloë Sevigny, once called “the coolest girl in the world” and still very much living up to that title, presents another absorbing individual — Carmen Lynch.

As Glass arrive at the preview screening on a chilly evening during fashion week Sevigny, every inch a style icon, was standing outside of the hotel wearing a beautiful Miu Miu dress. Before the screening began, there was a chance to chat with invited guests over champagne and popcorn which was served in very cute, custom-made Miu Miu boxes.
This is an ordinary story captured in an extraordinary way and Carmen Lynch – a clearly brilliant woman – is not afraid to speak about her life with stunning honesty, mixed with a huge dose of humor and sarcasm.

The film looks inside her intimate world, in which every female may find a little bit of herself, and her daily struggles of facing the loneliness, finding true love or dealing with the inevitable comparison to others. What makes Carmen different from most human beings is that she is not afraid to show her real self.
Chloë Sevigny has captured Carmen’s authenticity very affectingly and the film received applause almost as long as the film itself.
As the screening ended, there came the time to celebrate its success during the after party at Paul’s Cocktail Lounge at the Roxy Hotel, Manhattan. All guests were definitely pleased with what they saw and it was clear that the film had made all of the women present feel that little bit prouder of their womanhood.
