I've never been a huge Gorillaz fan (mainly because of the Murdoc character - he quite frankly terrifies me), but the hype about the forthcoming album, "Plastic Beach", has definitely caught my attention. The cartoon band's third album will feature guest performances by Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Mos Def, Bobby Womack, Gruff Rhys, Mark E. Smith, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Kano, Bashy, De La Soul, Little Dragon, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and - wait for it - The Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music. Hmm.
The album will be released on 8th March, but here's the Plastic Beach Orchestral Trailer to whet your appetite. It's a bit like Thunderbird Island in HD.
