Wolfgang Tillmans is arguably best known for his obscure and frequently abstract fine art photography - such as his Fruit Logistica (2012) and Abstract Pictures (2011) to name but a few - and if abstract photography doesn't sprint to mind, socially orientated photography certainly does. 

It's now with a breath of fresh perspective that Wolfgang Tillmans has released a publication that compliments a new body of work focusing on the natural world for his subject matter.

The exhibition "Wolfgang Tillmans. Neue Welt / Wolfgang Tillmans. New World" will be on show at the Kunsthalle in Zurich from 1 September to 4 November 2012.

            Self-sufficiency will surely be one of the main talking points around Lucas Foglia's new work A Natural Order that opens at Michael Hoppen gallery this November. 

 Growing up on a farm on Long Island, and being brought up by parent's who were part of the "back to the land movement" of the 1960's while his local area was becoming increasingly urbanised, Foglia's new work is seemingly thoroughly imbued with the concerns he and his local community faced growing up.

 These pertinent images - so relevant to current urbanization and environmental concerns - date back to 2006 where Foglia set out to the southeastern states - Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina - to immerse himself in self-sufficient communities who are motivated by environmental concerns, religious beliefs, and globalization.

A Natural Order opens at Michael Hoppen gallery 9th November - 1st December.

 After the first year of trading - selling 10,000 pairs, Mycoskie returned to Argentina to begin his first Shoe Drop, giving back to the children who inspired him. This continued with a second Shoe Drop of 50,000 pairs in South Africa and followed by subsequent 'Drop's' in various states across the US. 

TOM's now do both women's, men's and children's shoes, in various colours and fabrics - they've even designed a sequin version for their wedding range!
