Its a Monday morning in London and the day of The World's 50 Best Restaurants awards. The good, the bad and the ugly – or should that be the sweet, the sour and the umami – of the restaurant world have laundered their chef's whites and are in the capital for this auspicious event.
Amongst the culinary crew are the Roca brothers – who now hold the coveted no.1 spot for three-Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca – here to shed light on their newest and most intriguing project, El Sonmi; an innovative, immersive arts experience that aims to bring together music, gastronomy, opera, visual arts and technology.
Over the past two decades, the three brothers - head chef Joan, head sommelier Josep and pastry chef Jordi have delighted diners with traditional Catalan dishes married with cutting-edge techniques at their Girona restaurant:a culinary Temple for many.
Its this with this vision that El Somni was born. Literally translated it means The Dream. The result is gastronomy in dialogue with compelling art forms.
An operatic journey told in 12 acts (and 12 courses), drawing together Greek myth, robotic musicians, poetry and digital art, as well as the talents of film producer Jaume Roures, video and mechanical artist Franc Aleu and musical director Zubin Mehta, amongst a whole myriad of creative talents.
The story centres around a girl, Astrid who visits the moon falls into the sea, emerges in the Garden of Hesperides and falls in Love with Adonis. The story was written first and then the food created around it. Each course is expertly designed to elicit memory and feeling through both food and wine. The music, the visuals, the bespoke plates – created for every course – serve to compliment the food and vice versa. Its potentially emotional alchemy.
In keeping with the 12 acts, 12 course theme only 12 people will enjoy the event tonight at the Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona, but the brothers do aim to take the project in some manner to other countries and develop the experience for other audiences, so we may be able to savour this unique dining experience sooner than we think.
Now, who said dreams can't come true?

The masculine/feminine trend continues unabated for this season with designers such as Dries van Noten, Anne Valerie Hash and Stella McCartney playing with silhouettes and fabrics to blur the gender boundaries.

This season Casio’s Sheen brings broody masculinity and feminine sophistication together all in one timepiece. Sleek charcoal titanium ceramic –a new material to to the watch market being scratch resistant and five times harder than stainless steel– is married with SWAROVSKI elements, adding sparkle to the casing.
Other smart elements include a three-hand analogue, date and day of week and 50-metre water resistance.

Woolrich John Rich and Bros, aficionados of –you've guessed it – everything wool, have come out with their Autumn/Winter 2013 women's collection.
This season the Woolrich archive has been plundered to great effect, with historical wool patterns taking to the fore. Rather aptly a hunting package has been designed with these patterns in mind. The technical prowess the label takes great pride in, is showcased elsewhere in the collection, with waterproof wools used in outerwear and the iconic Byrd parka. Now, if only it was winter again...

Korean, casual apparel and French, sporty chic make excellent team- mates for S/S 2013 with the second collection from Novo, the Bean Pole and Christophe Lemaire collaboration for men.
The Novo collection debuted last season to great success. Pieces focus on colours, graphicism clearly taking inspiration from the forward thinking aesthetic of the Bauhaus movement.
Silhouettes are long and lean – almost linear – and mix bold minimal colour with sportswear detailing such as elasitcated bottoms and zip detailing.
Strict and sporty – definitely a winner in the style stakes.
