Festive pop-up event for Shine on Sierra Leone and Ebola crisis

Tomorrow, Standseven and WOFH will hold a festive pop-up event hosted by celebrity hair stylist and Shine on Sierra Leone Goodwill Ambassador Tara Smith. The event will support Shine on Sierra Leone and the Ebola crisis.

Shine on Sierra Leone is an organisation that integrates sustainable healthcare, education, microfinance, and development to ultimately create the future of an innerdependent Sierra Leone. Since the outbreak of the Ebola crisis, the organisation has worked to help those in affected areas. Standseven is an online platform that offers limited edition, socially-conscious design products, such as the Stool 7. Designed by architect, designer and OBE, David Adjaye, each stool pays for one Ebola response kit for a family unit in Sierra Leone.

Using traditional hand looms, local master craftsmen and women in Sierra Leone also re-spool and weave donated sweaters from all over the world. The resulting WOFH scarves and blankets are one-of-a-kind, and will also be on sale at the event, with 20% of proceeds going to the Shine on Sierra Leone charity.

All products at the event are also available online through Standseven. Celebrities such as Natalie Imbruglia, Chole Green, Yasmin Mills and others from the design world will also attend the event.
