Fall 2015 Haute Couture: Elie Saab

Today in couture, Elie Saab draped the runway in the classic elegance he has become known for. Every gown dripping in beads, embroidery and intricate accents that allow what would normally be simple floor-length gowns to feel worthy of their couture title.

Saab opened his show with an abundance of gold, which seemed to continue throughout the show, although it did dip into a few shades of blue and some deep aubergine tones. As usual many of the gowns had hemlines that just graced the floor, but a jumpsuit did make an appearance with a cape like shoulder line.

Most of the gowns that walked the runway had an element of sheer that allowed the extra bits of embroidery and lace to form patterns on the gowns. Many had similar cuts and shapes, mostly long sleeved gowns with fuller skirts for fall, but each owned their own intricate pattern.

The ultimate show stopper was Saab’s final look. A massive wedding style gown that covered the runway in gold. The fullest skirt in the collection and just about as full as a skirt can get considering it touched each end of the runway, even gliding along the feet of those viewing the show. It was a large leap from the darker tones that influenced the ending of the show.

This collection is a continuation of what we know to be Elie Saab. Beautiful gowns that many women would die to just touch. Intricate, sophisticated, elegant, classic, Saab has continued to live up to his reputation in his latest endeavour.
