Dream Sequence photography series

After 3 years of on-going work, the Dream Sequence photographic collaboration has come to fruition. The abstract series oscillates around the portraiture of unconventional fictional figures seen “at the crossroads between fashion, photography, performance and art” explains co-creator Sharon Lloyd. The primary inspiration stems from surrealism and film, specifically referencing Alfred Hitchcock’s – “Spellbound” dream scenes, whilst exploring the philosophical concept of the beautiful and the sublime.

The series is the product of a collaborative imagination, dreamt up by photographer Madame Peripetie, academic and writer Sharon Lloyd, and graphic designer Gunee.

The protagonists were shot in-camera, with nothing but essential re-touching involved. Body painting, prosthetics, wigs, 3D make-up techniques, and floral arrangements work to enhance and distort the bodies of the models.

The series was initiated in Germany, and continued in London, where the trio enlisted the creative input of stylist Stella Gosteva and make-up artist Marina Keri, as well as a plethora of emerging young designers across Europe.

Dream Sequence has won the Seltmann+Söhne Advertising Award in Germany, the Double Gold at PX3 in Paris and, most recently, an honourable mention at the International Photography Awards in New York.
