Diane von Furstenberg / Pre Fall 2014

Diane von Furstenberg’s Pre Fall 2014 collection is where Venice meets the glamour of New York. With prints being as integral to the label as the wrap dress, the muse of this collection is likened to a mid-century Venetian glass vase embracing the colour, silhouette and elegance in the dresses.

The fluid lines of Murano glass and the graphic checks of NYC came together winningly on a sleeveless maxi dress. Pretty and print-heavy, the addition of piecing and cut-outs add a third dimension to the collection’s collective energy. Sleeveless dress with a bare necklace connected in a delicate, stained-glass manner creates another element of pattern.

Other dresses featured multiple fabrics sewn together like a giant puzzle piece. Clever knit dresses and cropped jackets in black and white mimic kinetic art. Sleek envelope clutches shine in metallics and rich jewel tones, plus a brand new back-pack felt sexy and urban.
