Bottega Veneta’s SS18 campaign is a six-episode cinematic spectacle

AND ACTION. Bottega Veneta adopt the art of moving image for their SS18 campaign, a new chapter of the ongoing Art of Collaboration project. Comprised of six cinematic films, the anthology series, directed by French creative Fabien Baron, takes the title Reflections. With a character focus under “a single aesthetic vision”, the films will differentiate in narratives and link to the Bottega Veneta brand pillars: mystery, sophistication, architecture, sensuality and surrealism.

Creative director Thomas Maier has united a talented team to create the films, due to be released episodically throughout the season. Joining Fabien Baron is Academy Award nominated cinematographer Phillippe Le Sourd, renowned set designer Stefan Beckman and producer and composer Johnny Jewel (who’s worked on soundtracks for Drive, Bronson and Lost River).

The SS18 print campaign extracts images from the films, using camera technology, and uses a cinematically fashioned layout to conform to the concept. The prints include a repetitive use of the same frames (appearing like shots on a storyboard) and act as a movie poster for each of the episode. Models Vittoria Ceretti, Aube Jolicoeur, and Janis Ancens feature in the campaign, cast specifically for their ability to express emotion through film.
