Art company Beautiful Crime launches temporary concept store for art lovers

Urban and contemporary London-based art company, Beautiful Crime has opened BCC, the Beautiful Crime Concept shop, in Covent Garden, London.

The BCC store (and the first of its kind, the owners’ claim, in the art industry) provides art lovers the opportunity to purchase rare works from established artists such as Jonathan Yeo, Tracey Emin, Mat Collishaw, Banksy, Eine, Jamie Reid, Charming Baker and Anthony Micallef as well as from emerging artists. As well as these, other products, such as T-shirts and books, are also be available.

The Beautiful Crime Concept Store will be open until December 29 and during that time will be hosting a series of interactive artist events and Q&As which visitors can get involved in such as Mug Shot My Face and Paper View.

Artist Russell Marshall will be at BCC taking personalised mug shots of anyone wishing to create one of themselves. Marshall is known for his highly skilled screenprinting of famous icons’ portraits and  mug shots, including David Bowie, Steve McQueen and Elvis. Marshall’s works will also be available for sale at BCC. A photo-session by Marshall where he will create individual polaroid mug shot portraits which he will also signed, and costing £10, will take place on Saturday 14, December from 12 – 5pm.

On Tuesday December 3, in the Paper View event, Marc Hagan-Guirey discusses his unique art of Kirigami in a Q&A session with acclaimed art critic, author and former Tate board member, Cedar Lewisohn at the  store from 7pm – 8.15pm. Hagan-Guirey will discuss how he turns a single sheet of paper into breathtaking works of art. The demonstration will take you in to a miniature world. Places are limited, please RSVP to info@beautifulcrime.com with Paper View as the subject.

Also available during opening hours there will be an adult pair of angel wings and a miniature pair of angel wings for children on one of the walls of the BCC store, for many interactive photo opportunities for visitors to the store.
