Architecture and space in Ermenegildo Zegna Couture’s SS15 campaign

Shot against a cement cityscape, the campaign for Ermenegildo Zegna Couture SS2015 revolves around the dichotomy between architecture and space. Sporting sharply tailored grey and navy ensembles, models fit perfectly into their surroundings, and the skyline’s open space strikes a dynamic contrast against the architectural rooftops.

As Stefano Pilati states, “Architecture vs space. This was my starting point. My first aim besides working on the collections has always been using an intuition and this dichotomy, that firstly inspired the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture SS15 fashion show, defines the basis of this Campaign, where the location itself is an essential component.”

With his combination of colour, stripes, and texture, Zegna portrays his New Leader with an understated demeanour and personal freedom. This season’s campaign was shot by Inez & Vinoodh, and draws inspiration from cinematographic language, particularly the legendary German director Wim Wenders.
